KO WāI MATOU?
Kei aku nui, kei aku rahi o Te Herenga Waka, tēnei mātou o Ngāi Tauira e mihi atu nei!
Ko Ngāi Tauira te rōpū tauira Māori o Te Whare Wānanga o Te Herenga Waka! Ka tū mātou hei māngai mō ngā tauira Māori huri noa i te whare wānanga, waihoki ka whakakanohi mātou i a rātou ki ngā poari mātauranga me ngā kaunihera o Te Herenga Waka. Ka tautoko hoki mātou i ngā tauira ki te eke ki ngā taumata tiketike e mōhio ana ka taea e rātou, mā te hapai i a rātou ki te whai i ngā karahipi me ngā pūtea tautoko.
He nui ngā kaupapa ka whakatūria e mātou puta noa i te tau, pērā ki ngā mahi kapa haka, ngā hākinakina, ngā wā ako, me ngā wā whakawhanaungatanga.
E whai ana mātou ki te whakatupu, ki te poipoi anō hoki i ngā mahi mātauranga, i ngā tikanga, i ngā tōrangapū, me ngā āhuatanga pāpori o ngā tauira, mā te whai i ngā mātāpono me ngā tikanga o Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Ka tautoko marika a Ngāi Tauira i ngā kaupapa e whakamana ana i te reo Māori me ngā tikanga Māori, kia noho ora ai te reo Māori me ngā tikanga ki Te Herenga Waka!
we are Ngāi Tauira, the Māori Students’ Association at TE HERENGA WAKA - Victoria University of Wellington.
We are the voice for Māori students at Te Herenga Waka, providing advocacy and support services, representation on academic boards and councils. We co-ordinate scholarships and funding and run a variety of events and activities through out the year including kapa haka, sports, study wā, social events and many more!
We aim to help nurture, and foster the academic, cultural, political and social potential of tauira in a manner that is consistent with Te Tiriti o Waitangi, its principles and practices. Ngāi Tauira also supports any initiative that encourages the practice of te reo Māori and tikanga Māori at Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington.
